Description

This stoneware clay sculpture is a creation from my imagination, a play between contrasts — hard and soft, smooth and textured, rigid geometry and organic fluidity. At its foundation stands a golden truncated cube, precise and structured, supporting a large, flouncy blue flower.

The cube itself required meticulous planning — six stiff slabs measured and assembled with precision, then carefully truncated at one corner to sit level. At first, it was simply a base, waiting for purpose. But as I continued to work, the idea of movement emerged, and the flowing petals took shape, transforming the sculpture into something more alive.

It wasn’t until the final stages (after two glaze firings to perfect the blue), that the piece truly found its essence. A tiny nude Goddess appeared, as if she had always belonged there, settling effortlessly into the heart of the blue flower to do some gardening. She’s like a little pollinator, embodying harmony, as if she and the bloom exist in perfect symbiosis.
