My favourite colour combination right now is khaki green and muted pink – as you can see on this new ceramic art object.

I had anxiety dreams while waiting the 2 days for the kiln to cool down after the glaze firing. I dreamt that the kiln had been moved to a new location and everything had fallen down inside. I also dreamt that all the glazes came out a really boring brown and I was racking my brains to understand what I’d done wrong. I didn’t fancy another restless night, so I waited up until 1:30am when the kiln temperature had dropped to 55°C, then opened it to face the reality. I am very relieved to get such good results and now I’m excited to make more forms and play with more glaze combinations.

This type of ceramic art sculpture was originally intended to go on a metal stand that can go outside – Pretty Maids all in a Row! In reality, I find that objects find their own places eventually. I think they’d look equally good on a stand, plinth or sideboard.
