Description
When making this surreal stoneware sculpture my imagination was inspired by each step of the creative process. She became a queen, fully present in her own power, radiating peace and calm. Her closed eyes evoking a sense of trust and stillness.
Hollow at the core, she stands elegantly on a hardwood base. Designed to be viewed from all angles, she has no defined front or back, instead revealing eight subtle facial expressions, eight facets and sixteen supportive hands. She invites contemplation from every perspective.
I recognise her from an old drawing I made: the three-breasted princess that was censored from a kids colouring book I made years ago. It’s funny how creative ideas resurface again in different forms, this time being made in 3D. It’s almost like I’m plagiarising myself!
