Artmixture collective, an international creative group set up by Mix Amylo last year, is all about collaborations! You are invited to the first Artmixture Collective performance in Órgiva, Granada, Spain – Celebración Artística!

About the performances

Even though I can’t be there in person, I will be contributing my video art – recorded pieces that I collaborated on with various musicians in the collective and also two live performance pieces.

Live collaboration 1

Title: If I should come open

Combining visions, sounds, images and textile – inspired by my idea of creating my own “attire” to then again undo it.
Moon dancer performer

You will be able to experience a live performance with the dancer Moon, composer Mix Amylo who will play breathy clarinet and tabla player Deo Rajinder. I have made a video backdrop with the theme air, which will be projected over and behind Moon, as she goes through her movements, that includes arm knitting.

To depict air, I had to show what it moves – dust, leaves, clouds, the slow motion of a bird’s wing or a butterfly in flight. Air is revealed only by what it carries and by what contains it.

Live collaboration 2

Title: Braided Light

It s about abstract feelings of being together and apart. It is merging movement, amalgamating, then dissolving.
Siobhan Padmore performance artist

The 2nd performance features Rebecca Faro and Siobhan Padmore, who devised this piece and will perform an improvised dance. Mix Amylo’s original piano music inspired by love, will also be improvised. The original composition that my video is accompanying is called Cinco Dias, from Mix Amylo’s latest album Clouding. On the album her piano is accompanied by a string section, but for the live performance she’ll be performing with a guitarist and percussionist.

The music inspired me to draw from my archive clips shaped by water’s gentle movement – reflected clouds, sunset horizons, drifting bubbles and a calm sea. My video backdrop, with these soft flowing images, will accompany the performance.
