8th November 2025
That was such a brilliant event and I got to wear my Trash and Glow crown again! I absolutely love doing my video projections in gallery spaces — that’s where they belong. I met so many kind and talented artists and it feels wonderful to be finding my tribe on the Barcelona art scene.
Artist and event organiser Abi Fantastic creates something really special with her Collaboration Station art events — a warm, supportive and joyfully creative community that’s starting to feel like an extended arty family.
VJ’s Miss Plunkett & crs#1138
Honza and I set up on Thursday, hanging paintings, arranging sculptures and testing video projections, so we were totally prepared and relaxed for performing on Saturday. Honza handles the vision mixing like a pro, weaving together our latest VJ clips — things like me doing some underwater dancing in full scuba gear, hypnotic rotating award-winning roses, a monstera leaf, flowing water in its many guises, plenty of bubbles and a big kaleidoscopic cabbage. We also had a couple of new art films – a slow motion ethereal wild swimmer and a glamorous widow endlessly walking down staircases. We’re so grateful to all our friends who’ve performed for us over the years — it’s such a joy seeing you pop up in our visuals.
VJ set up
Our teamwork just clicks. I film and edit the loops; Honza brings them to life with his refined mixing aesthetics and technical expertise – he gets the most out of our complex VJ software. We run Modul8 on both our computers and use a Roland V-02HD vision mixer to switch and blend seamlessly between us. Mixing with Honza reminds me exactly why we got together in the first place — he’s so much fun!
Our VJ styles are very different, but that’s what makes it exciting — we spark off each other like DJs doing ping-pong sets, taking turns to surprise and inspire each other with our visual language.
The venue — Shimmy Gallery
A big thank you to Shimmy Gallery, a beautiful space in Sant Antoni run by a gentle and supportive manager who has kindly asked me to leave some artwork up for the rest of November.
It was one of those events that left me feeling creatively recharged and deeply connected — exactly how exhibitions should make you feel.
