A glimpse into my world of live visuals

Here’s another little taste of the kind of live visuals you can expect from me…

This short A/V collaboration with long-time friend and musician Dubversive (Richie Stevens) captures the spontaneous, intuitive essence of my VJ style. I made this video to show the easy, throwaway quality of how I mix visuals live – layered, playful and raw – just like in my real-time VJ set. What you’re seeing is the kind of original, autobiographical content I project in the moment.

Flow state of visual contrasts

This video art showreel features visuals laid down to a track by my long-time musical collaborator, Stephen Bellm.

The piece explores contrasts — blending delicate organic florals with gritty urban machinery, all tied together by the constant, flowing presence of water. It reflects my signature style: intuitive, layered and emotionally charged.

Visual alchemy

If you’re looking to add a layer of magic, depth and elegant style to your event, I’m your VJ. My visuals aren’t stock – they’re living, breathing art made to move.

I bring decades of experience as a visual artist aka Miss Plunkett VJ, I’ve been lighting up clubs, stages, galleries and festival spaces since the mid-90s – organizing VJ’s and live cameras. From residencies at London’s Fabric, to running an immersive outdoor mobile dome in southern Spain.

I’ve performed live visuals alongside top DJs, electronic acts and experimental dance performances, adapting fluidly to the vibe and energy of the moment.

A visual artist first and always

My background in visual arts means I approach VJing from a unique perspective. I studied fine art at East London University and have worked across film, photography, painting, sculpture, video art and installation. I create all my own VJ loops – a library built up over 30 years of shooting, editing and crafting footage from my surroundings, performances and surreal visual experiments.

I show only original content, which is very playful, arty and sometimes even beautiful. Every clip I use has a story, whether it’s kaleidoscopic waves, rotating flowers, flames, punk dancers in handmade costumes or industrial machines melting into abstraction.

I VJ to all types of music, for all types of crowds and I’ve always got fresh new content to show.

Crafted for the big screen

I know what works on a 5-metre projection screen. High contrast, strong silhouettes, rhythmic motion and surprises that keep the crowd engaged. My visuals are always tuned to the music – not just beat-synced but emotionally and atmospherically aligned with the vibe.

Whether it’s hypnotic and ambient, playful and poppy or dark and pounding, I’ve got the material (and the eye) to support your musical curation with the visual know how to amplify the mood.

I feel a great responsibility to the audience to uplift them and sometimes make them think twice!

Tech-ready and self-sufficient

I come as part of a team, working together with my VJ husband, #crs1138. We supply and maintain all our own gear – a super-bright, long throw WiFi projector, laptops, mixer, cables and experience with both indoor and outdoor setups. We use Modul8 for live mixing and we’re capable, focused and flexible when it comes to working with lighting techs, stage managers and sound engineers. Years ago I was a video technician at the London filmmakers co-op (LUX).

From London to Barcelona (and beyond)

I cut my teeth in London’s underground and commercial scenes and also made a name for myself in Spain. I’ve run the visuals in domes, on stages, LCD screens and on the sides of trucks – even on giant flag installations. I’ve performed in London at Trafalgar Square, WARP’s 1–9, Fabric, The Vibe Bar, 333 club, Heaven. In Spain at Sonar Festival, Mipinas festival, Rocket festival, Dragon festival, Pacha, Opera 4, Sala Tren and town fiestas. In Portugal at the Freekuency festival. In Czech at Mighty Sounds festival, The Cross club and Remek Soundworx. In Amsterdam at the Supper Club. See some videos on my VJ gig page.

Bonus

I record events from the visuals perspective to make promotional videos. I write a blog, do SEO and always advertise the events I’m involved with.

I hope this helps you to feel confident about working with me and BTW I use 55% dark chocolate as my fuel to stay up all night because I’m responsible for my VJ kit, which means I can also be responsible for the space.
